This autumn half term CAT was excited to announce the opening of our brand new Quarry Trail.
Climbing up through managed broadleaf woodland visitors and school groups exploring CAT’s brand new Quarry Trail will discover spectacular views into an old slate quarry and panoramic sights over the Snowdonia National Park.
As the trails take you up through a Moorland Heath Area, a Wildflower Meadow, a Reservoir and a Willow and Hazel Coppice you will learn about woodland management and the importance of protecting diverse habitats.
Don’t forget to listen out for woodpeckers, tawny owls and dormice along the way.
All three trails (short, medium and long) boast unique natural features and are steep and uneven in places so wear sensible shoes and keep kids close.
Take a stroll at your own pace or book a guided tour.
The Quarry Trail was built with the support of Natural Resources Wales.
